Abstract

Innovative technical knowledge, packaged as improved technology has well been recognized as the source of productivity enhancement in agricultural/horticultural crop production systems. Research institutions under the ICAR and Agricultural Universities provide the much-needed impetus for crop improvement and productivity enhancement. Such technical knowledge in the form of improved seeds and planting material, plant protection tools and techniques, farm mechanization need to reach the ultimate stakeholders across the value chain, the famers.
