Abstract

Agriculture has long been the backbone of the Indian economy, employing nearly 70 crore people directly or indirectly (almost half of the country’s workforce) and contributing significantly to rural livelihoods. As India envisions becoming a developed nation—Viksit Bharat—by 2047, the transformation of its agricultural sector becomes imperative. Agricultural mechanization thus is not just an option; it is a necessity to drive the next wave of agricultural revolution, ensuring food security, rural prosperity, and environmental sustainability.
