Abstract

In india whey utilization is not yet commonly practised on commercial scales. Therefore, it is important to think of treatment of whey before its disposal. Possibility of whey treatment by photo-oxidation after chemical coagulation was evaluated. COD could be reduced by 16% in 12 h by photo-oxidation using methylene blue as photosensitizer.
