Studies conducted on Instron machine on reabsorption of juice have shown that when the load from the crushed cane samples were released. the bagasse expanded like a sponge and negative pressure was created which absorbed a part of the juice, available in the vicinity of the expanding bagasse. When the load was released slowly the reabsorption was more as compared to when the load was released quickly. The reabsorption of juice ranged from 22 to 38% at different speeds of loading.
