An animal drawn single row cotton plant puller was designed and developed at Punjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. Two cotton varieties AHH 468 and DI-IY 286 were used for taking trials of the machine. The draft increased from 126 kg to 155 kg with the increase in forward speed of travel from 1.5 to 2 kmph. Cotton stalks having diameter between 15 mm to 23 mm were pulled out efficiently. Few plants having diameters below and above this range either escaped or caused machine to stall for want of additional force. Overall pulling efficiency was found to be 84.5% at field performance index of 95.13%.
