A chance constrained linear programming model has been developed for a canal command area of Punjab. Crop water production functions for major irrigated crops have been developed. Optimum cropping plans for a tract in Punjab indicate increase in annual net returns as the risk level on irrigation water application increases from 5 to 25%.
